Overview

A sport climbing and bouldering topo for Rubicon Crag, Water-Cum-Jolly near Tideswell in the Peak District UK.

Available for the iPhone 3GS or 4 running iOS 3.2.2 or higher and for Android phones running 2.2 or higher.

• iPhone. You can download it for free on your iPhone from the App Store by searching for 'rubicon' or 'wcj' alternatively just follow this link to download via iTunes.

How to use

The WCJ Rubicon App uses standard navigation features for the home screen which is split into three sections:

Detailed crag information for Rubicon including where to park, access considerations and approach information, a Google map showing the crag's location, parking area (tap the parking pin for directions) and you own location (if you allow the App access)^*
Detailed sector information, with crag overview and descriptions for each sector.

When viewing a sector, you can switch between the topo and routes listing using the buttons in the right of the bottom toolbar; from the routes listing page, tapping a route will switch back to the topo with the route and description shown. From the topo page, you can view a description of a route by tapping the route badge. The route info bar can be closed again by tapping the small 'x' in the top right of the info bar.
To switch between sectors, you can either navigate back to the home page or tap the sector picker button in the left of the bottom toolobar, this page shows a preview image and more information for each sector. Tapping the preview image will navigate to that sector, tapping Done will return to the previous screen.

* The app will only use location data to to indicate your current position on the map, it is not stored or transmitted externally.

Any comments on route descriptions, grades and topo information would be welcome so that we can refine the information shown in subsequent updates. This topo app is a living document which can change to reflect current consensus and the condition of the routes it describes.
