Minus 10 Bouldering


Minus 10 Bouldering is a new up-to-date bouldering topo for iPhone & Android for Stoney Middleton (Minus 10 Wall & Tom's Roof). It is based on a PDF topo authored by Andy Barratt and compiled with the help of the community.

• iPhone. You can download it for free on your iPhone from the App Store by searching for 'minus10' or download via iTunes. The original PDF can be downloaded from Andy's site here.

• Android. The app will be available in the Market Place soon, in the meantime you can download the beta application file (APK) for your Android phone from our site at this link: Minus 10 Topo for Android (1.6 or higher - tested on Sony Xperia, HTC Desire and Samsung GalaxyS so far).

How to use

The Minus10 bouldering topo is a Tab application. You can navigate through the application using the buttons at the bottom of the screen on iPhone or top of the screen on Android.

The info screen contains a brief history of bouldering at Minus Ten wall at Stoney Middleton, with sections for location, directions, an approach map and GPS coordinates for the parking area.

The topo screen features a fully marked sector by sector plan of Minus 10 wall (left, centre and right), Georges Wall and Tom's Roof. Each hold used in a problem is marked and numbered and referenced in the problem description. You can flick to scroll across the sector map, and pinch to zoom in to view each hold in gr detail.

The problem lists are organised left to right by sector. Each problem shows the name, grade, which holds to use and which order they are to be used in to warrant the grade given. Any rules or exceptions are also noted in the text.

Selecting a route from the list will switch to the topo and slide to show the starting holds of the problem in the centre of the screen. The problem description will be shown in a scrollable area at the top of the screen just below the sector indicator. You can hide the problem description by tapping the 'x' (close) button and reveal it again by tapping the 'i' (information) button.
