Moelwyns

A quiet corner of Snowdonia

The Moelwyns are a bit of forgotten backwater of Snowdonia, ever since it was removed from the Tremadog Guide and placed in the CC's Meirionydd guide book, the place has been much less used. This combined with a slight lack of 3 star classic, doesn't mean that the climbing isn't good. In fact its a two star route paradise.

Areas covered

Although the main crags are focused around Bleanau Ffestinog, there are other outlying areas that have great routes and are even less popular. As such the Moelwyns is more a conesiuers choice but has routes for experts and novices alike. The areas covered in this guide are:

• Craig Y Tonnau
• Carreg Altrem
