Press Release. November 1st 2018

The Send has been at the forefront of innovation in guidebook apps since 2012 and we have been especially proud to have developed guidebook apps as a way of supporting bolt funds.

Together with Sue and Steve McDonnell, we have raised around €6000 for the Glaros Snack Bar bolt fund in Kalymnos in the last 3 years. Apart from what the Apple and Android app stores take, all the money earned through your sales has gone to support the bolt fund.

It is now time for us to move The Send on and we are pleased to announce that we have entered into a partnership with Sloper Climbing. We have been working closely with Sloper for the past 3 years, helping develop their app and Author content administration system and we feel that now is the right time to hand over the baton. All of the Send guides will be available through their app in due course, starting with Kalymnos this Autumn and rolling out the remainder through Spring 2019.

Sloper runs with a subscription model, with various options. For example, you can get 1 months' worth of Kalymnos subscription for 4 USD (or local currency equivalent). This easily covers the holiday time period that most climbers take for a tiny price point. Of course you can subscribe to their premium product if you wish and gain access to author written guides worldwide. Sloper have agreed to continue supporting the Glaros bolt-fund with donations made from sales of this guide.

For those looking for the most up-to-date guidebook app to Kalymnos, please check out the awesome new app by Sloper Climbing.

For those who have already downloaded the Send's Kalymnos app, there will be no further updates but the app itself will continue to work as before.

Thank you for all your support and please continue to support bolt-funds wherever you climb.
